“Love at first sight” is a beaded spiked hatchet head bag with beaded strap. This bag is one that I been wanting to do for some time and finally did it. I had to restart the whole thing a few times because the measurements were off and would not line up and fit together. On the 3rd try, everything fit together. If you look at bag from the side, you can see how the bag at bottom tapers and widens as you go towards the top like a hatchet head. On the sides of the bag are various sized spikes. The top has a flap closure with a durable magnetic clasp. At this point the bag looked very punk/goth, so I soften and balanced it out with some colorful beaded butterflies courting on a flower. The beads are all very old and very rare antique Venetian glass seed beads with facets, like the red, orange and pink Venetian micro whitehearts with facets along with 5 shades of atq Venetian greasy “opal” turquoise cut seed beads. I used most of what I had collected of these old beads and used them together to bring the butterflies and flower to life. The leather on the exterior is very lux. It’s a matte black embossed lamb skin from Spain. Very durable and easy to clean. The interior of the bag is Italian lamb skin. The hardware are gold metal spikes, ‘D’ ring attached for removable beaded strap and handle with strong magnetic clasp.
